The Legacy Corner Store

Without public transportation, access to fresh food can be a real challenge for some neighbors. Thanks to funding from The Rapides Foundation, we provide healthy and fresh produce to our community. Located inside the Legacy Café, the Legacy Corner Store offers a selection of grocery and household staples, alongside fresh fruits & vegetables from the Legacy Garden. We accept SNAP/EBT.

The Legacy Bucks Program

Do you use SNAP/EBT? If so, you are eligible for our Legacy Bucks discount: Buy 1, Get 1 FREE on fresh fruits, vegetables, and many other specially-marked items.

Our goal with this program is to make healthy-buying choices affordable and accessible to our customers. Typically, chips or sugary sodas are cheaper in stores than healthier alternatives, like nuts and 100% juice drinks. We are changing the idea that eating healthy is more expensive… one Legacy Buck at a time.

Providing Access to Healthy Foods

Opened in 2021 through a grant from The Rapides Foundation, the Legacy Corner Store makes fresh produce and grocery essentials accessible to the West Natchitoches community. The neighborhood surrounding the store is classified as a food desert, but through the efforts of the store, we’re increasing food security for our Natchitoches neighbors.

In the store you will find fresh fruits and vegetables, dairy items, eggs, deli and other fresh meats, dry goods such as cereal, rice, beans, canned goods, grits, flour. We even carry household items and cleaning supplies. Stop on by!
